Malia Hair is a new haircare brand that was established by Melbourne-based couple
Felix Dimitrakis and Victoria Mangonis.
They’ve spent the last two years perfecting their formula to ensure their product was nothing short of high quality. They launched their very first product – a Moisture and Repair Watermelon HairMask – July this year, with tonnes of Instagram influencers including Skye Wheatley and Love Island’s Margarita Smith now sharing their love for the mask.
The Malia Hair mask is for all hair types, derived from natural ingredients including argan oil, shea butter, coconut oil, coconut water, soybean oil, macadamia nut oil, cotton seed oil, olive oil, vitamin E and watermelon seed oil. The mask is also free of silicone, sulphate, paraben, phthalate, palm oil, gluten, and is colour safe. The couple are proud to say their mask is 100% vegan and cruelty free as they adore our furry friends!
Felix said he lost his job in March due to Covid-19 and times became tough. “Stuck in isolation, we decided to use our time to prepare for the launch of Malia Hair. We sent a mask to Skye Wheatley to try out and she absolutely LOVES our product. She has been able to achieve the results our mask promises and elected to help with our launch by promoting our mask on her social media.”
He continued: “After the first week of operating, we reached a total sell out. Our Instagram DM’s are overflowing with women all over the world expressing how Malia has transformed their hair in only the best of ways. This is a true reflection of how fantastic our product is and makes the whole two years of sleepless nights, the doubtful and impatient moments, all the more worth it.”
I tried the hair mask myself just two months ago, and not only does it smell good, it feels good too. The pretty, pink texture feels fun and flirty (like very thick yoghurt?) in your hands as you apply to damp hair after your shower. The whole bathroom begins to smell like a heatwave of delicious watermelon froyo – almost delicious enough to want to eat it! After using it just a few times, I quickly began to see results – my hair felt healthier and overall less dry. Even day three after my hair wash, my hair would still feel like how it would on day one. I usually left my hair mask on for 30 minutes to an hour – however, one time I left it in overnight! And my best result was from the latter. Although, whether you leave it in for 15 minutes or three days (hah, joking), expect the best, because that’s what you’ll get.
