Modern Australian-Italian fusion accompanied by beautifully designed interiors is exactly what you can expect when entering North Sydney’s Lobby Boy located neatly inside Northpoint Tower.
The chic space sports a mixture of 1930s style chairs, lush marble counters, comfortable yet stylish velvet upholstery, hues of royal blues throughout, and beautiful impressionism art adorning the walls. And the view? Breathtaking.
Lobby Boy was the brainchild of the team behind The Grounds of Alexandria. The restaurant showcases locally sourced produce through a fusion menu guided by the seasons, and they have launched their new dinner menu available on Thursdays and Fridays. It definitely isn’t what was expected from “the coffee place down in the lobby” for the many office workers in the area who escape to the oasis for a much-needed caffeine hit.
The new menu includes stand-out dishes like zucchini flowers with ricotta truffle mousse; pan-seared duck breast with savoy cabbage, rhubarb jam, crema fresca, fried onion and strawberry jus; and a brussels sprout salad with kale, grape tomatoes, pine nuts and sultanas. The hero dish is undeniably the in-house 15-20 day aged wagyu beef.
Zucchini flowers being one of the personal highlights provided a generous and delicious helping of ricotta truffle mousse; and the provolone arancini (stuffed with risotto and provolone cheese and peas) was packed with flavour. I highly recommend these warm dishes of soul food being at the top of your list this season.
Executive Chef, Sachin Shrestha, says of the new menu: “We are very excited to launch our new dinner menu as a natural evolution of our offering to the local community of North Sydney and further afield, delivering dining excellence and seasonal produce to excite the taste buds of our diners throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner.”
Operating Thursday and Friday 5.30 pm until late, Lobby Boy is the perfect oasis to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a night of Australian-Italian fusion cuisine across the bridge.
